Three Essential Elements of Medical Sealing Machines
Medical sealing machines used for final sterilization packaging must possess three essential elements: temperature, time, and pressure.
The sealing temperature varies depending on the material of the sterilized packaging bag, but the time and pressure remain relatively constant. For example, when using an MDcare sealing machine, the sealing temperature for high-pressure steam/ETO/formaldehyde sterilized paper-plastic packaging bags is 180℃;
For peracetic acid low-temperature plasma sterilized packaging bags (Tyvek bags), the sealing temperature is 120℃; and the sealing temperature for aluminum foil bags is mostly 80℃.
The sealing time is approximately 1.68 seconds. The pressure is between 80 and 120N, typically set at 100N. Note that different brands of packaging bags may have slight fluctuations in these heat and pressure parameters due to differences in the materials used.
Once these three elements of the sealing machine are set, they must remain stable during operation; for example, the MDcare sealing machine maintains a fluctuation of only 1%.
